Penina

We have made Penina Colnar since 2016, by the classic method. It is non-vintage and made from kraljevina, the indigenous Dolenjska grape, which is a protected variety. Kraljevina is too often overlooked; for sparkling wine there is nothing better, with its high acidity, low aromatics and low alcohol.

Penina Colnar is brut nature, meaning under 2.6 grams of residual sugar. By the classic method it spends at least 30 months on the lees. In the glass, lively fine bubbles; on the nose and the palate, citrus, green apple and bread crust. We recommend it with fresh oysters, with cheeses, or with white fish.
